Modular Chemical Systems (“MCS”) breaks tradition and breathes new life into an old, underutilized chlor-alkali industry with its proprietary technology. The chlor-alkali process produces both caustic soda and chlorine. Chlor-alkali is a $33 billion industry with over 500 chlor-alkali production facilities world-wide. At the forecasted 3% growth rate, the chlor-alkali industry grows at $990 million annually. Caustic soda demand alone grows at an annual rate of $650 million with volume growth of 2 million tons every year. Manufacturers sell the caustic soda in the global market but are only capable of selling the chlorine in its regional market due to environmental regulations.

Many of the current chlor-alkali plants are not able to service their caustic sales because there are no viable markets to sell the by-product, chlorine in their local region.

MCS owns the only commercially available manufacturing process that bridges the under-utilized chlor-alkali producers with a high growth market, calcium chloride. Our design meets the highest environmental standards. One modular unit is capable of consuming 15,000 tons of chlorine annually.¹
